The tiger’s eye belongs to the large group of quartz, a variety of chalcedony. It usually has a yellow-brown color with a golden sheen due to asbestos fibers, but can also be seen in a reddish variety and even in bluish shades. The colors present in the stone are arranged in stripes, giving it a tiger-like appearance, whence comes the name of the stone.
